Is Laser Hair Removal Safe?
Posted on June 12, 2013 by Jaimie
Laser Hair Removal is a safe method to remove unwanted hair on all parts of the body, when the treatment is done properly. Be sure to confirm that the Laser technology being used is approved by Health Canada (both the M22 and the Lightsheer Duet lasers that DermaLounge uses have been approved). Getting a treatment with a laser that has not been approved by Health Canada, can be risky.
Be sure to consult with the laser technician before your treatments. They will be able to assess your hair and skin type and what kind of results you can expect.
Laser Hair Removal will take several treatments, so be wary of businesses that claim full results in just one treatment. But, it’s totally worth it. Just imagine the time and money (long-term) you’ll save by not have to shave! And no more razor burn or ingrown hairs!
When done properly, Laser Hair Removal should have no long-term negative effects. Some people do experience normal side effects, such as itching, pink skin, redness, and swelling around the treatment area or swelling of the follicles, which normally last 2-3 days.
